I made some orders too, but I suppose it will not be easy to get one, as the eu extension will be the most popular tld after .coms

so whats the deal where you ordered? I had to pay 1 euro, just for them to verify my bankaccount information. Now I can order as many as I want and I only pay for the ones they can succesfully register for me.

I know thats an old post but looks to me still actual...

Nikolas you think that .eu comes to be very popular?
There are already some existing domainnames from the sunrise 1 but never noticed one on the net or in advertisements, the only existing I know is eurid.eu

A lot .eu names are really hot (think about the three letter word with the x) but there are also a lot of brand names not claimed in sunrise 1 or 2. I think that a lot of people get lucky to get a good name because in aprill the one who is first in will win the game!

I believe that eu domains is the next big thing on the internet.

I mean after .com there is nothing to compete except this.

And don't forget that europe is a very big region with lots of millions of internet users.

Yes you're right about the bij region, but how many sites do you know with the .tld "us"

Sounds to me a big internet thing too...

Us came very latelly.

So americans are used to the .com domain.

I think the same is about to be done with .eu

And after all at this moment there is nothing to seperate european sites from us

It's not about this, If dutch people are looking for dutch pages they use a .nl domain (the same in other countries) If a european company have some business with people in US the use a gen. top level domain to get accepted. The same for US companies to people outside of the US. This is more about how people are looking against other cultures and countries and it could be a mistake to communicate with a .eu domain US people. (this is just my opinion) that could be the reason that big US firms doesn't registerd .eu domain names during sunrise 1 and 2.
Check the whois records for this domain: php.eu

I think the key part of this new tld is that it will have a lot of new keyword based domains, so it will propably have a lot of interest.

And it is very important that it is .eu and not something like .tv or .info

But anyway these are just words. In a few months we will know better Smiley

Right, I hope I get a lot of popular domain names, by the way at lycos it's possible to pre-register without charge, will mean that if you don't get the name you have nothing to pay...

eu domain names are a very complicated history. I know a very big company in Greece that eu rejected their domain registration because the domain name they wanted  was e.x edu.eu and the company name on the papers was edu-financial company. So they couldent register just ""edu"" . How do you think about that?

I registered bergtoys.eu in sunrise 1, was declined because the company name of the domain profile was different from the reg. trademark certificate (BERG Toys and BERG Beheer) costs euro 100 (for nothing)  Huh

yes, you're right I think that PriceWaterhouseCoopers earn a lot of money during sunrise 1 and 2.

the result must be a big succes of .eu domain names otherwise there are only two bij winners!
