SEO - Canada

Position Overview:

We require a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead the SEO discipline in our company. As this person, you will   be fully responsible for the goal of expanding our placement on the Canadian search engines and will dominate our market by covering at least 80% of the first page of Google, Yahoo Canada and MSN Canada, under the top keywords in our market.
 


In accomplishing this mission, you will build new sites. Your responsibility will include all hands on work required including writing and optimizing SEO content, preparing basic images and site layouts, as well as preparation of software specs and process documentation for expanding SEO systems. This role will report to the technical lead of the company, and will work closely with marketing and our president in building resources to assist you in accomplishing our search engine goals.

You love learning, technology and SEO. You read a lot and always have tough goals you want to accomplish. Your enjoyment and enthusiasm is easily noticed by others.



Requirements:

You have been successful in SEO and can clearly demonstrate multiple top placements, achieved by you, in Google, Yahoo and MSN, under very competitive keywords.
You have a portfolio of aesthetically pleasing sites you have built.

You are an active member on at least one search engine community.

You are extremely strong with HTML, CSS and Javascript and have a best practices understanding of user interface design, how to make sites look good and what it takes convert traffic to sales.

You are technically savvy with at least 2 yrs experience and proficiency in the use of some or all of the following technologies:

o PHP

o PERL

o Bash

o SSH

o Linux

o VI

o MySQL



Additional Benefits:

A scientific bachelors or masters degree in a discipline such as engineering or computer science is desired, but the right experience will fully compensate for lack of education in this role.

Experience producing professional graphic and site design work for clients using PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash, and Quark have managed in a company with multiple brands and product lines.

You have the ability to write strong sales copy and your profile includes various samples of professional sales copy that you have written.
