I want to teach web design in a local community college. So far I have my associated degree. I am also in the web design business and have been for years. What do I need to do to become a web design teacher?

I think you should have strong research regarding web design and high profile experience and should know tools.

Some are taking Teaching units before they teach. Some rely on their experience on the field but not all are great teachers in the making. If you think that you have the sufficient knowledge and experience in the web design area then why not do teaching. Just be passionate enough. Teaching requires a lot of patience and dedication. Satisfaction most often comes intrinsically.

Already you have web design business, so you may start a web design training institute.

According to my experience for becoming a web-design teacher, you must have complete knowledge about graphic designing and web-designing, you must have proper knowledge about various web languages which are used to develop a website. After getting complete knowledge you may convey that knowledge to your students.

It depends on the rules of that college, however if you have any degree and will prove the academics your knowledge, you'll be well appreciated!
