Does anyone knows any good tools or tutorials for optimizing the mySQL server?

I don't mean optimizing the queries, but the DBMS server (my.cnf or whatever else)

It seems that I haven't done my job properly in the new server Sad

Any help will be appreciated

as far as special optimization goes im not sure with the my.cnf file your referring to. with basically installation it should be fine. what exactly problems are you having? still same as before or totally different? have you considered trying a different host? i know a great host with great plans, cheapest ive ever seen (i have been WSS to long, so im not switching) and this may be the plan for you (by the way this is linux):

Unlimited Park Domain
Unlimited Subdomain
Unlimited POP3 Mail

Unlimited Mailing List
Unlimited SQL
C-Panel/Fantastico
PHP

No man I am not looking for a new host, I use my own servers.

I just want to optimize the server for better performance.

does the DB use temp tables, and how big is the DB in MB? if its over 100MB it may just be overloaded and u may consider releasing old entries and cleaning temp tables also have u considered allowing anon. and remote conn. to the mysql? also you can disable mysql error logging, speeds it up a little. also i believe there is a fix with new versions of apache, php, and mysql that will make it lots faster.

I have done most of the things that you describe here.

I think that the error logging is not a problem, as there are no errors(I think that you should not have any)

The tables and the indexes are ok, and the database is 'clean'.

About the temp tables I use 32mb, but I am not sure if this is a value for the whole server, or for each connection. I am sure that I should raise this number, but I dont know what will be the cost in resources, and right now the server hosts some high traffic sites(which wait for their own servers) so the memory is allways full.

this sounds to me more like the mysql server u use is lagging, to many simultaneous connections at once. id allow less than 32mb for temp man.
