JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

We seek an experienced and highly-motivated PHP 5 developer to join our team to program, integrate, test and deploy our customer relationship development system based on SugarCRM.

As a PHP Software Engineer, you will build the systems that CustomInk.com uses to feed and harness customer enthusiasm thereby driving customer loyalty, encouraging word-of-mouth and creating sustained organic growth.  You will also be expected to participate on internet marketing projects that attract new customers to CustomInk.com.  You must be customer-focused, technically resourceful, and passionate about creating a remarkable online experience for our customers. 

The PHP Software Engineer is a new role within a new department at CustomInk.com called Customer Relationship Development (CRD).  As such the successful candidate will be results-oriented and possess an entrepreneurial work ethic.  You will report to the leader of the Customer Relationship Development team who will direct project priorities as well as provide technical oversight.  On a daily basis, you will be expected to work comfortably alongside your CRD and internet marketing team members.  Given that the CRD team is small and just getting started, a willingness to work under tight deadlines and to contribute to any team project, including non-technical ones, is critical.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Three or more years of object-oriented web/software development experience and at least six months of recent experience with PHP 5 on Linux.  You must demonstrate strong database design and SQL abilities using both MySQL (primarily) and Oracle databases.  Strong debugging, testing and documentation skills are required. Although a web designer will be available for many projects, you still must be proficient in web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript. You must also be comfortable with developing web applications using the Apache web server on a mixed Windows and Linux/Unix environment. You must have strong attention to detail, be able to learn new languages, tools, and systems quickly, and have excellent communication and problem solving skills. You must work well on a team but also have the independence to work individually.

In addition to the required technical qualifications, expertise with SOAP, SugarCRM, AJAX techniques, Smarty templating, Ruby on Rails, CVS, and Red Hat Linux administration would also be highly valued.
