I've created a php and MySQL based website navigation-menu script which I re-use in most of the websites I create. You can check it out and download it at http://phpmnu.bugfix.nl/ If you add an item to the menu called 'Sitemap' it will open up all sub and sub-sub categories in the menu. One of my clients that has the php.mnu loaded with items is http://www.savinglittlehearts.com/

go to justinlove.net and click site map in the top link bar.. theres the way php fusion writes them.. but otherwise, u can write them on your own, or search on google for "sitemap generator", and there are free services which will write xml versions of your site. heres a good one:

Hey meth0d this is not a google sitemap. This is a simple sitemap for your visitors.

Check this : https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/about.html

Wow, I didn't know sitemaps had protocols.  I thought they were HTML files that mapped out your site in Directory format.

Kinda cool.

Oh man.... "protocol" is just a word I was uing in general.

It just means "A standard way of doing things."

For instance, spy movies have spy-contact protocols like this:

SPY: "Nice weather we're having"
CONTACT: "Yes, but I hear it's going to rain cats & dogs"
SPY: "Then I better watch out for poodles"
CONTACT: *hands him a note with intel*

It's just a standard.

This is one I have... http://directory.wineography.com/sitemap.htm

If you are looking to make one for users to navigate through, you need to make it clear that certain pages are sub pages. I have used arrows in mine. Just listing all the pages doesn't make it any easier for the user.
