Bring Gmail to your domain.

This special beta test lets you give Gmail, Google's webmail service, to every user at your domain. Gmail for your domain is hosted by Google, so there's no hardware or software for you to install or maintain.

Interesting ha?

Interesting, I didn't knew of this service. It seems that there is a big war out there between Microsoft and Google

I think that those services are kind of useless.

I mean if you have a domain name, you also have a mail server. I can't see why I should host my emails there.

You can have spam free mail in your own server using software (spamassasin or any other), plus you can have many gigabytes mailboxes.

In my own server I have removed the quota for the mail accounts, meaning that an account can have up to 80Gbs mailbox! But anyway this is something that none uses so it is just a marketing game of those companies

off topic:

Tintin is your real name, or does it mean something to chinese language?

PS: Sure I could lend you some Smiley

The next step probably is to wait till a revenue sharing option is introduced! Then we will see a lot more people interested.

What sort of rev share would you be interested in?
1) Your own adsense spot
2) Pay per email transacted
3) anything else

I know this is a little far fetched but who knows - it may happen sooner than expected.

I think that we are far from this point, except if the googlers are reading this forum Smiley

I like this idea, because even if you have your own server it's nice to have your email hosted by someone else. I have a Gmail account and I don't use it that much now but if I can have my own domain name, then I will start using it more.

Is this an invitation only program or anyone can be part of the beta?

I think it is not, but I can't tell because I don't have a gmail account (if you have one you can login and check if it is with invitations)

As long as you have a gmail account you can apply, but they will approve you (I'm still waiting for approval).
