Yeah, I couldn't get them either. I signed up, just to see if it would do so automatically, but it didn't.

I think you need some kind of coupon and enter it on the billing page before you get your $50. That's how it worked when I got 500 SEK from an Google ad in Sweden.

You don't need a credit card to use adwords, just prepay some credits, this voucher will give you some credits for a new account only. Paying by cedritcard is just one payment option.

Thanks for that! Knowing English and French helped, was able to make it through the signup page, even understanding they wouldn't accept free e-mail addresses.
