Hi

Today I have noticed that I am being attacked by some fake Adware remover.  I cannot get rid of it.  Every few minutes it comes up with "Security warning Adware programs found on system..." in a speech bubble coming from the quick launch bar.  When I click on it.. a box comes up about a free scan of an adware remover and when I click on the free scan it takes me to a slimshield site... http://www.slimshield.com/landing.htm?wm=acc177&soft=sshield

I have attached a picture of the stuff that comes up.  It would be greatly appreciated if you lot could help me remove this.. I have spent this whole morning trying to remove it with Spybot and Xoftspy.

Thanks!

Sounds like a very proffesional spyware. Maybe a format is the best solution.

Have you tried to scan your pc with a good antivirus?(eg. Kaspersky)

Have you tried Spyware Blaster or AdAware? They might get it.

It might act like a professional, but some of the grammar certainly is not. Language does not sound like native English speaker.

Possible your PC is infected, we advise to check up system on presence of viruses.
For protection of yours PC...

I guess this is the latest way of getting folks, hiding under the concept of utilities that are supposed to fight this slime. Sheesh.

try running hitmanpro ( http://www.hitmanpro.nl/ ) this program runs several different spyware/adware removal programs in a row. Untill today this has always cleaned my system perfectly.
