There's a thread over on SP right now talking about what website owners would pay for if only they had the money or could find someone to do it for them.
It is mainly focussing on writing articles, directory submissions and associated SEO.
I've been thinking for about a month about offering an article sharing service. The idea would be that the articles have a limited distribution of say 10 sites. Each site would pay a small fee to use the article and maybe include a bio of the author (me for now) with the guarantee that no more than 9 other sites would be able to use the same content. Site owners could also buy exclusive rights for use by paying more.
Do you think by limiting the usage it would help avoid dup content penalties?
Seems like this would be a win/win. Site owners get cheaper original content and I can offer cheaper prices per customer, yet earn a better overall price for my time.
Do you see this as a viable service? The articles would be completely original and not generated from the words of others liike the free services do.

Interesting idea.
I think that this could work, but you will need a lot of promotion as it is a new thing that people don't know about.
About the duplicate content penalty I think this is something that can be debated. I don't think that the people who will use those articles will get a penalty, at least if they can change a little the article, and add some extra content.
