I'm brand new to this site.

I just took a week to do my first custom template for my home recording site.  By far, this site is the best example of SMF, I've ever seen.  I didn't even know it was an SMF forum until I looked at the footer.  Very nice!

So I want to know how you guys did it.  Are there any guides?

Specifically, how did you guys do this.... (see attachment)

Well Brandon,

First of all welcome to webdigity, and thanks for your good words.

This forum is full of custom made modifications that I made myself, so the most of them are not mods that you can find anywhere.

The specific modification is something very easy to be done.

It is in the index.template.php file the function template_main_above()

if ( $user_settings['posts'] == 0 && !$context['user']['is_guest'] )
echo .......

Trial and Error my two best teachers Cool

AWESOME!!

I have zero php background, but it doesn't appear that this stuff is THAT hard to figure out (as long as I can get context right).

Well, I'll be bugging you about more mods later on.  I'm guessing that most of them are quite simple!

Brandon
