Hello,
Are you a fan of DMOZ?
That your site is listed at DMOZ, looks to be very important to the most SEO's but...
I submitted my link request's for my own site more then 2 two years before, I got 5 times a visit of a dmoz editor and everytime there was nothing happend (moved my entry to new categories). Listed until now? NO
next site my template shop site, submitted a year ago, one visit from a dmoz editor 6 weeks after submission. Listed? NO
Last submission was for a customer, requested a link in a matching category. The site was listed in a different category (the local city/region) and that after 4 weeks.
sounds familiar? I can't see that DMOZ editors are looking for content rich (worthfull) websites what do you think?

I have similar experiences with dmoz. I like their directory, but I have noticed that the search function is down too often.
I have a part of my site listen in dmoz, but I didn't add it myself and also the description is somewhat wrong. I have never changed it because I'm affraid I might loose my listing instead of getting it updated.

Yes, the text is written by some editors, you may ask them to change the text but how much time will this take Maybe the next question should be: who is using the DMOZ directory?

Not sure, because I like Google and Yahoo much better. And also since the search function has been down so much lately at dmoz I have to say there are much better alternatives.
On the other hand dmoz is used on so many other sites like directory.google.com and whois.sc just to mention two examples.
If I would be the one paying all bills for dmoz, then I would like to see some results. Not directly ads and paid links, but some better use for all the content they have.

Yes that's all about, plus that results from a directory are often higher ranked than other sites.

DMOZ is a great thing for SEO (as many search engines use it for their rankings, and as they have thousands of mirror sites) but listing your site there is more like lottery

hmmm, I don't think that you should resubmit because they may ban you for submitting more than once. I had the exact same experience as Olaf had... got a client in in no time at all, but have been waiting years for some sites to get in!

Your first submission should have the same status like in the begin "pending". re-submitting will also reset the process...and if you submit to often they will do nothing with your account...

and... posting in this forum with a link (inside the signature) to the same site then submitted at DMOZ is for sure much more effiicient than waiting on DMOZ
and by the way the customer with a linkat dmoz doesn't got more traffic or higher rankings...
