IMO, promotion that hauls in traffic and revenues must be tailored to go beyond itself. If website owners and business owners will see the necessity in going for targeted traffic, then they will absolutely be spared from the expense of time, effort and money. Effective viral marketing of any product will only be as effective once all efforts are laid-out in the tables of people who are interested on what is being offered. ? 

i think many of these advices are already dated, because many things have changed since 2006 year. I think now promoting of websites become more and more difficult day by day. I think now one of the most important feature in promoting is content.
