Brave New (Internet) World for Politicians

Elections held in the last 10 years or so have had sparse voter turnout. Pundits were especially alarmed by the seeming total disinterest by younger voters. Common thought was that they were more interested in voting for candidates on "American Idol" (they weren't the only ones, more on that some other time) than they were for politicians on the American ballot.
