I love offline promotions. I think they have potential to produce a more lasting memory in someone's mind. I particularly like the following guerilla marketing tactic and I wholeheartedly recommend it:
Go to Staples or some other office supply store and pick up the perforated business card sheets for your printer. Print your URL and maybe a tag line or two on the business cards and make HUNDREDS of them. Keep some in your wallet or purse at all times and some in your car.
Go to libraries and bookstores and go to the section of books most closely associated with your content and place a card in the books and then back on the shelf.
That is by far my favorite offline advertising method.
The cards can also be left in places you visit if your subject matter is wide enough. If you go to conventions (for instance about anime) bring some with you and leave them about.
Low-impact but well targeted offline advertising is not as difficult as it may at first seem. The key is to find a way to insert your advertising into the products and places your target audience will be looking.
