« on: Jun 16, 2006, 12:24:42 PM »

Hello,

just noticed the new title and description for one of the websites I made:

It's a copy of the titel which is created by some DMOZ moderator (not anymore the information I used before...)

is this something new what google is doing? The old information was already indexed by google...

No it's not new.

When your site appears in DMOZ, they will get the title/description from there, otherwise they will grab the page's title/meta description, and if that not exists they will use a portion of your content

The title and description you see in the index, is not used for the SERPs/ranking algorithms. They appear only for displaying them.

That would be a coinsidence.

Try to find out if you made another change in your site that had impact in your SERPs

No there are no other changes, its strange with this site, I use the same technique for all the sites I'm creating and with this site darteltrampolines.nl it is not good, maybe because the site was very bad optimized about several years?

The category in DMOZ that the site appears, is relevant for the new site?
