Here is the script :

Code:
<?php
$mail
="mymail@mydomain.com";

$code="<script>var mail=String.fromCharCode(";
for(
$i=0$i<strlen($mail); $i++) $code.=ord($mail[$i]).",";
$code=substr($code,0,-1).");document.write('<a href=\"mailto:'+mail+'\">'+mail+'</a>');</script>";

print(
$code);
?>

Too simple, and really effective.

Thanks for sharing Nikolas!

Yeah those can slow down a site, but not too much.

For example topsites, with more than 1200 unique visitors per day and all of those rules + astatspam rules is working fine.

But I think that this works better with Apache 2.x instead of 1.3 without being sure for that.
