It's time to use PHP5!

« on: Aug 04, 2006, 09:01:55 am »

Hello,

I have a strange thing, I created at my template shop site a special page for "zen cart templates" and one for "osCommerce templates" both have a Google PR 4.

I search for this keywords these pages are not showing up within the first 100 results, normally there is nothing strange with that but arroun the place 60 there are other pages in the serps:

for "osCommerce templates" the mainpage (PR4)
and for "zen cart templates" the download page (PR2)

I understand the first one but why the lower ranked and less matching second one?

I am not sure about this, but I can tell you that the google SERPs algorith is a little messed up recently, that's why many people start thinking that google is doing that on purpose so they will be able to generate more clicks from adsense....

Yes I read about that, actually there are really strange things, I noticed several inbound links from pages with duplicated content too... I hope it will become better the next month, I don't think that google is promoting his adwords business this way.

Something happened with G on or around the 27th. I've seen on other forums (been to many trying to figure out my mess with PR etc) where quite a few folks did well with the PR update and then got bashed new the 27th. I luckily got whacked that day too. Quite a few top 10 results totally gone from the top 100.

So, it may not have anything to do with your site specifically, but whatever stuff G was smoking on the 27th.

I did see where a few folks mentioned they were back, but most were not.

G-bot hasn't been to any of my sites in a week now. Hopefully, this is just a temporary thing.
