I use HTML-Kit. It color codes and has autocomplete, it does not "help" by inserting any extra code - not even a link/mention to themselves like Frontpage does. Haven't done Php or Java with it so I'm not sure if it does as well with them. Has a code check feature that works quite well. It misses a few things that W3 picks up, but one time it caught more. For the most part if you pass with HTML-kit you will pass W3 too.

You can create templates and code snippets which are great for creating new article pages where all the menus and what not are the same.

Best part is that it's free. And no, I'm not an affiliate or otherwise affiliated.

I did read an article on a product called Alley Code. It too is free and sounded interesting, but I haven't played with it any.

Nope. But it has many cool features.
1.eyedropper
2.FTP
3.It has an autocomplete function but not that good as Zend IDE or PHPEdit
4. color translator (put in #FFFFFF and it shows you the color)
5. macro recorder
6. ascii chart
7 Paste special (copy and paste a webpage and it with HTML included)
8.HTML Preview

Cool huh... I know there are a lot of better Editors out there. I just tend to like the free ones Smiley
