It is $149 for upgrade, or $499 for a new license

maybe it depends on where you're from. adobe photoshop costs over $1000 in my country. thats about 700+ us dollars.

Yes it is quite expensive, but if you are good at making graphics and websites you can make that money back and it is well worth it.
