This thread is like a continue of this one. I thought that it would be more appropriate to have a thread about swickies in general
Anyway today I got this mail from eurekster :
Quote
Hi nick
There has been new activity on your webdigity swicki. If any of the following new search tags are of interest to other users of your swicki, you may want to consider adding them to your buzzcloud
* Alan Haire * php rss tools
Click here to review these new search tags for your buzzcloud
Average daily search volume = 36 Estimated value of swicki = $1,576
Best regards, Eurekster Team
Did you ever got a mail like this regarding your swicki?
And btw is there anyone that makes money from his/her swicki?

yes of course I got this yesterday:
There has been new activity on your osCommerce Resource Search swicki. If any of the following new search tags are of interest to other users of your swicki, you may want to consider adding them to your buzzcloud
* dtm 2003 mod * dtm 2003 * red hot chillie peppers * gta 2 * townsmen * quissera bm * 6230 pm * Windows Advantage * Webroot Spy 5 * episodios de sonic x * Singularity 7 * fedor
if your swicki gets arround 200 views a day (and more) you will have this mails every night.
It's important in th begin that you add the buzz cloud or a link to a well "google" visited website otherwise you don't have visitiors from google on your swicki

and to all others:
try to create a swicki with a unique group of keywords, otherwise you get bad listings in google (my php-resource-search was trippled at eurekster because of an error in their system, with the result I went back from hundreds of views a day to almost zero and got a Google PR drop...)

That's a good advice. I think to create the tag cloud in the front page of webdigity with html (non javascript) to help those pages crawled/ranked better.

yes you can do that but this way its not visible how often a tag is used at your swicki, I think the one link insode the noscript tag is enough... my latest swicki is indexed wel and is only some weeks old and has never a link from a high ranked page:

My swicki has been hijacked!!! So, I want to use the search from my site (webmasterarticles.net) and get to the swicki page, noticing that the buzz cloud has some new words and the colors of the swicki have been changed...
http://webmaster-swicki.eurekster.com/ now shows "by Thomas Fruetel from http: /blog webmaster homepage de" That is not me, and that is not my site... The weird thing is that if I log into my swicki account 'webmaster' is still listed under 'my swickis'

I've got my swicki back! After updating something in my layout, the swicki is now mine again! But probably only untill the other owner updates his again... I guess they have a little bug in their 'sign up now' script...
edit: I just tried starting 'php-resource-search' swicki and it also tells me the name is available, while Olaf is using this one...

Mind_nl,
thats excatly the problem I have in the past, in my case it was it was about the 3 swickis that belongs to me (not that I asked for them).
The best way to prevent this is a unique name, a short name like "webmster" can be a problem (again) I suggest to change the name into some like "webmaster articles"

buy the way, there is another feature we can use to promote our websites at the swickis:
adding featured websites (menu item Manage promoted sites), this way we can add our sites to the top of the results (but only the related sites) I would like to add www.1linkdirectory.com to the web directory swicki and web-development-blog.conm to the webdigity swicki
I will add the the webdigity swicki to my php resource swicki
