ad targetting on one of my sites is off.

from here in the philippines, i think im seeing ads in french or german and im pretty sure theyre not about dating and my site is in english.

i was wondering if you can tell me what kind of adsense ads are showing on my pages from where you are located. maybe its just me. thanks!

Adsense is showing ads regarding :

1) The content
2) Your accept language
3) the content of the page that you are coming from (referer)

Section targeting is just a "hint" for the adsense bot.

That doesn't mean that the bot will follow the hint, but in most cases helps.

my problem is fixed. the people from Adsense replied fast. they told me to add a robots.txt file for this:

User-agent: Mediapartners-Google*
Disallow:

and the ads now are relevant. i think i will add this text file into all my sites.

This is part of their email:

>Thanks for your email. I reviewed your site, and it appears that we've
>been unable to crawl the site because your robots.txt file is not valid.
>If your site has a missing or invalid robots.txt file, the AdSense crawler
>may be prevented from indexing your site, as we do not know if we have
>permission to crawl your site.

and, it worked. and the lady who assisted me, Ms. Leslie is nice.

You could use a robots.txt like this :

Code:
User-agent: *
Disallow:

This will allow every bot to crawl your whole site Wink
