« on: Sep 08, 2006, 04:34:04 pm »

This link came via a SEO group into my mail:

http://www.digitaltigers.com/zenview.shtml

a good example about a page with to much javascript code

the interesting thing is the owner tried a lot of wrong things to correct this Grin

(the result that someone from the SEO group will report this page to the abuse form of google, hehe)

Olaf, can you explain.. what is the problem with SE's if there is too much JS? I know SE's cannot see the content and hence the pages will not get indexed effectivly.. but what else?

Javascript is not wrong but keep it outside the html (external files). One of the basic rules I learned is that part of ocde should never be bigger then the content... I think thats why CSS/XHMTL pages are better indexed then table designed pages

Search engine crawlers don't execute javascript, and they don't even recognize CSS files/attributes.

Even if you put it on the same file, it will be ok if you use the <![CDATA attribute
