Hey guys -

So I know that I'm the one who reviews everyone's sites and tells them how much they suck, so I figured I would give the community a chance to get back at me. That, and it's really hard to take an impartial look at your own work. I'm nearly finished with a site I've been working on since about July, and I wanted to know what people thought.  There are several known issues with this site, as it is NOT FUNCTIONAL YET, just in presentable format (finally!). I am aware of the following:
  • there is no metadata on any page. it's going to be dynamically generated
  • the subnav breaks in IE7
  • some images are broken. this is because i don't have anything for them yet, and i haven't built a placeholder
  • the pagination is 1 off, ie it repeats the last one on the page before it
  • the shopping cart does not work yet
  • registration does not work yet
  • i am missing content on several pages
  • the featured product on the home page does not display correctly in IE7
  • the pagination links do not clear correctly on pages with an incomplete row of products in IE7
  • any page with a form on it does not (sigh) validate because of retarded code that VS.NET inserts

and i'm sure a slew of other things i can't think of at the moment.  basically, i'm asking you what you think of the look and feel of the site, in addition to its navigability and intuitiveness.  like i said, it's not quite done yet, but i'm submitting it for aesthetic and structural scrutiny.  Thanks for any comments you may have!

stupid testing servers. ugh.  okay, so it may work for some of you, it may not.  it's still on a testing server which has spotty service, but just try every once in a while.  i promise you there's something there.

haha...thanks nikolas for telling me what a 404 error is Smiley  there is a file there.  i can see it when i go to the address, and i uploaded it myself.  there's just something weird that's been going on with the server sporadically.  earlier today i couldn't view it at work, and just recently i've been able to see it.  but i've always been able to see it at home, and so can my client.  f'n weird, man.

Thats a nice site, something really different than all the other sites out there. I love the design and the navigation is very clear. Great job!

Finally I can see the site Smiley It seems that your server likes me now...

It looks very nice, maybe little slow to load, but right now I am on a connection that shared by too many people, so maybe it is my connection's problem not your graphics.

Anyway from your work I understand that you have the right to review other sites Smiley

BTW feel free to submit this to the web design gallery when it is finished Wink

yes Jason it's a nice design a small point for the main page, have some space above this header:

Hand made, Heart felt.

You should finish the cart an dregister/login function because this processes are more difficult then a websites navigation.
I saw that you're using a windows host (asp / .net) If you're using php I have a nice and free solution for both functions.

thanks guys....it's very validating to hear that other people like my work. i appreciate all the love Smiley

@nik - yeah, it's probably your connection, as i've never had to wait more than a second for it to load.  check the filesize; it's like nothing, and the images are pretty nothing as well.  a lot of little ones, but very little K size.  thank you for the comment, though!

@olaf - thanks for the suggestions.  the reason i've kept the text so tight is an attempt to keep everything i can above the fold.  if i space things out more, they start to appear below the fold, and this isn't a good thing for the homepage.  as for shopping cart/registration, i custom build all these functions, and i've been doing it for a while, so it's just a matter of me tweaking code i've written several times before.  i just haven't done it yet because i've been focused on getting the products to display correctly Smiley  However, this is definitely next on the list.  i'm thinking that either tonight or thursday night (well, here in the states) that i should have this done.

again, thanks to whoever views the site and comments!
