I'm the creator of the tools. What problem did you have? It appears that you are using different code to pull the title.
I think the issue comes down to where you put the code. The social bookmark code should be associated with the post. Putting it in the sidebar will cause problems if there are more than one post on a page, like the homepage.
I suggest putting the bookmark code in somewhere in the post loop. Example, before the comments.
If you want the social bookmark code in the sidebar, then I recommend not showing it on the homepage to avoid confusion.

Hello,
I started with your code but the url wasn't valid according w3, so I used some other arguments for the function the_title and added the encoding function, this way it works and the html is valid.
You script works fine for the frontpage to becasue always the last story is used in the url
So there was no problem other than the fact that the URL wasn't valid according to the W3C? It still worked right? Just making sure.

as I said, the tool works fine and is easy to use....
remember that by default there is link within the wordpress blog to the w3 validator, people don't like it if webpages are not valid but suggesting valid code by this link...
