Finally I decided to rewrite the whole whois tool, and this time add it to webdigity.

The new tool is located at http://www.webdigity.com/ws/ and you can simply perform a query by adding to this url the tld you want to know more about, eg. http://www.webdigity.com/ws/webdigity.com

Bellow is the old announcement for the topsites whois tool (which is now redirected here) :

Quote
Well these days we've launched a new webmaster related web site called whois database.

The site can be found at http://whois.thetopsites.net/ and it keeps whois and SEO information on top level domains such as whois records, pagerank, link popularity, indexed pages etc.

Please give it a try and let me know your opinion on this.

It is a very informative site, but I think you should give it a better layout

I've checked it and it is ok. Are you still getting an error message?

The propagation of the domain is still not finished. Right now the site is visible only in the us.

Yeah unfortunately it isn't working here either. Sounds like it will be a very nice site though.

That's too sad.

The reason that you can't see the site is the  domain propagation.

I can't understand how is this possible, because if you see the forum you should also see the whois.the... because I made the dns change for it before the forum's launch.

I can see the site, and I like it.

It is simple but very effective, as it shows all the usefull information about any domain name.

Good work Nikolas

Cool site, but the pagerank seems to be a bit off.  On one of my sites it shows up 0/10 when all other sites show a 2/10.

The site is very useful.
Do you collect the data realtime then put it in a database for future queries of that domain?
Oh, and the Pagerank thing is because pagerank differs between www. and without it, so I think when retrieving the whois info, it truncates the www. so the PR is the one for the site without the www.

That's right. We take the www. pagerank.

The data are collected real time.

As for the query, I don't use a database (it would be a pain in the ass having million of records in a database), I just have a caching system, which will keep the cached page for 3 months.
