Sorry. I just use my own gender by habit sometimes.... I should have guessed.... I think it's easier for male designers to design something so clean & straight...
BTW I do not want to get into a gender bias discussion for my above comment. It is just from personal experience. We girls like to make things 'pretty'.... I am trying to force myself out of that.... I don't really like pretty...

Yes we man tend to be more to the point than woman, and I'm not just talking about designing here
I think a logo must be simple and clean. Look at the big companies, many just have a word as logo (sony, microsoft, panasonic, casio) and some with a very simple graphic (like JBL or nike) Sometimes I really wonder how much the 'design firms' charged for these...
