hello guys,

as this is my first post, I feel kind o weird posting a problem here, however I hope this is the right forum :-)

The problem is I did not get my activation link, whatever I tried, so I found the formular were I could put in another email address and voila I got it.
Then I started looking through my logfiles and found the problem:

your mailserver has a wrong hostname set if I am not mistaken, here is part of my logfile:

Quote
an 30 19:51:57 h898552 postfix/smtpd[28617]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from ns.topsites.gr[72.36.195.155]: 554 <zeus.topsites.gr>: Helo command rejected: Host not found; from=<nikolas@webdigity.com> to=<ovizii@myserver.XXX> proto=ESMTP helo=<zeus.topsites.gr>

if I try and ping ns.topsites.gr it resolves to 72.36.195.155 but if I do a dig for zeus.topsites.gr I geta host not found, so thats why my mailserver was rejecting the activation mail.

I hope I have not set my mailserver too restrictive, but this is needed today as spam percentage is growing bigger and biggger. you might want to review the issue though.

Hi Ovizi, and welcome to our forum Smiley

That's a very strange problem and I will investigate it later.

But as the zeus..... host is our reverse DNS entry I guess I should contact with our hosting company.

Anyway thanks a lot for letting me know, hope you'll enjoy your time in our community Wink
