Interesting article, but anyway I don't think this is really important issue, as a $_SESSION check would be enough to count unique clicks Smiley

You can't count clicks, but you can't count unique clicks in your landing page Smiley

Sure why not?

if ( isset( $_GET['aVarThatIndicatedAclick'] ) )
  if ( !isset(
$_SESSION['clickCounted'] ) )
  {

countClick();

$_SESSION['clickCounted'] = true;
  }

(Php is more easy to understand from english by both of us Smiley )

I think there is quite a bit of confusion in this thread. The article mentioned by the OP was about AdWords advertisers trying to detect click fraud.

The point was hat counting hits on the landing page is not good enough because users can refresh or hit the back button, causing multiple hits on the landing page.

This has nothing to do with AdSense publishers.  If your an AdWords advertisers concerned with click fraud its an excellent article. If your a publisher who doesn't car about the advertiser side, it doesn't really matter.
