Often times finding the right resource amidst 40,000 posts can be daunting. To aid those who are new to these forums, and to provide a growing resource for those are regular visitors we have compiled this topical list of ASP resources.
If you have any you would like added, just ask.
General ASP Sites
Though there are literally thousands of ASP-based sites around, here are a list of our favourites because they are the most comprehensive and useful.
As the developer of ASP, Microsoft has provided a veritable treasure trove of resources, chief among which is the Microsoft Developers Network (MSDN). These documents can be confusing, but are worth digging through.
ASP Documentation is available with every full install of Microsoft Internet Information Server. It is viewable through http://localhost/iishelp if it is installed. If not, check your installation options. Though Microsoft Personal Web Server does allow ASP, and does provide ASP documentation it is both sparse and inaccurate. Also, PWS is definitely not the best Webserver you could pick to use, though if it is your only one it is better then nothing.
Members willing to help with ASP related questions
The very basic questions always seemed like the hardest thing in the world, and it is always easier to ask the question than have to try and trawl through a million and one tutorials looking for something that fits your problem. As such, certain members have volunteered to help out. They are not the only members who are helpful in the ASP areas, they are simply the ones who have opened up their private inboxes to ASP-related questions. Use them, but don’t abuse them.
