Another Day in Paradise

Dear webmasters

I stumbled over adfreestats.com about 2 month ago and have implemented the web statistics of this free service into several of my websites since. The stats are LIVE and seem to be really exact. After logging in to the addfreestas account by clicking the button on the site, the last visitor is always me, with correct exit link and time to addfreestats. So i think, thought, it would be a very reliable and useful web tool. And since the service is free and only requires a little button on the pages you want to track i started to admire this tool very much. Just think of it; you can see exactly how many hours it takes for your last post to be indexed and where the traffic comes from. Including all search phrases entered to search engines and exit pages. I could go on like this for a while but i guess you got my drift by now.

The problem is this: Since about a week I'm running a PPC campaign with paper clips for one of my websites. I monitor the campaign very closely and i also use addfreestats to monitor the whereabouts and exit links of my visitors.
And that was an eye opener! Now either is AddFreeStats not a very reliable tool what would come very surprisingly to me, or the company I'm advertising with TRIPLE CHARGES my click count!

Since i also track my visitors with Google Analytics on the website in question (like on any other site), i tend to believe the latter. The number of site visitors of the referral link in question is much more similar to adfreestats than it is to the number of clicks that have been accounted for in the same period of time. Now before i go out screaming and yelling i thought I'll ask my friends on webdigity about your experience with addfreestats.

My question here is; has anyone of you addfeeestats running on any of your website? How reliable do you feel this stats are? I hope i will get a lot of reactions here. I don't like to get fooled, by either, the statistics or the people i pay my advertising money to and i assume that we all feel the same way here.

Thanks for your time.

I am not familiar with this company, as I use analytics (besides my server side software) for stats. But as addfreestats and analytics give the same result it is obvious that the problem is on the cpc company's behalf.

Send them an email and let us know what answer you'll get Smiley
