It's time to use PHP5!

« on: Apr 21, 2007, 07:12:12 PM »

Hi,

I'm the new owner of phpground.com a php script directory.

I know only a few days of ownership is to early, but it looks to me that the site is banned by google.
why?

The website has some good inbound links since 2005 and doesn't have a PR...

also exact searches gives the site any results at google while all pages are indexed.

is there a way to check if this site is banned?

If you search site:phpground.com it gives 291 pages, so I guess it is not banned. Probably the links are new

no not really most of the links are older than 3 month, maybe its because the same site exists in the russian language?

EDIT not the same site because the layout is only the same, there was also a kind of corp. site and a forum.

maybe I need to wait some weeks...

If site: doesn't reveal results but link: does it normally means the site is banned, in your case I would suggest its something different.

Try to link this site from different web sites or better from authority sites like digg, stumble, etc. A few high pagerank links may also help (but not more than 4-5)

Post in your blog about it so that all blog/feed crawlers will get your link.

Then wait for a few weeks and see what happens.

check this http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/www.phpground.com/ Visit through proxy

I got more then 1.500 visitors via SU within three days, I will write a blog about it (since my php blogs are automatically submitted to the bigger php blogs it should fix that problem)

I had read somewhere that if G bans a site the PR toolbar shows gray instead of white (0/10).

Haven't seen any proof of that, but have read it several places. It appears your site doesn't have that problem.

I noticed the last site I launched seemed to take longer to get indexed despite have links on sites that were getting spidered daily. It was the first domain that I had purchased that had been previously registered. I too thought I had a problem; but it is now fully indexed.

make all site unique (diff titel, diff. description etc.)

check the page with all my snippets/classes:
http://www.finalwebsites.com/snippets.php Visit through proxy

this has ~ 50 subpages like

http://www.finalwebsites.com/snippets.php?id=45 Visit through proxy

since I have for all of them custom content the supplementals are gone
