Have you ever received extra pay when the client wants to remove your designed by link and a contract stating you can never take credit for the design work after you made it?

I almost have 80% of my past years clients require that for every deal, only a fraction gives credit or link back any thoughts?

It depends on the client and the design. Personally I do outsourcing (other development companies pay me to do their projects) and in that case I wont charge them more as they are good clients and they know what they want (less work for me)

But if someone else asks me for a link removal I will have to ask more money

Trial and Error my two best teachers Cool

Thats what I did expect that they put my design by link at the bottom and I can post their site info on my portfolio, but others go measures to get my link off and not show any credit for my work since they paid for it... It's all in writing, I obliged for the extra... but it was kinda strange so I asked...

Why don't I get bonuses Nate? Lol!

Anyways, @GiorgosK, did I say I can't mention them because I signed a contract, little afraid of repercussions since I was actually sued last February for a simple slip of the tongue...Let's just say a motor company releasing a new truck and want a landing page. They paid extra btw.

This is off topic, but I read somewhere you're looking for an .edu domain, I'm looking for a .edu too, any success? I am using it for a real school actually, outside the US...

.edu is for US education institutes, you will need to apply to the education board in the country the school is based in for their equivalent.
For SEO purposes  most American (SEO's and web developers) (present company excluded) have their head some where in the area of their buttocks they seemed to have missed a huge opportunity, they think .edu help give decent rankings and they are right but they never though to look at what happens with other countries education domain links Wink

just a Tim top tip let the millions fight over .edu domains which in turn will devalue them and in the mean time go get yourself some nice links from other countries educational institutions I will even give you a clue, you can get a PR7 link from the oldest University in Europe without to much trouble with a little thought Wink

I only got one bonus for my design, even I try to do my works to best.
So I  will not expect the extra pay.Maybe the best bonus is the client will give you next project.

Well it kinda sucks now since I have to check client sites in an insecure connection since my work PC is down, haven't done work for a week now and may extend to more if I don't get my PC back up this weekend.
