Wow, nice place, so many lakes, even the cars are swimming... Dam overflow would cause that... on the other half of the world theres a Fire Storm going on...

I guess from your sense of humor about this, your home and business are safe? I hope that's the case.

I've heard from someone in the Hull area on another forum - don't know if they are near you or not. They have been lucky as well; but do report some have not.

Will be thinking of you as your community works on drying out.

The house wasn't effected a small puddle in the garden at the end but it was pretty close, and others in my Village (a couple of miles from retford) were not so lucky and as you can see from the photos that were all around our area. In terms of real problems about 10 miles north is still flooded a little north of the city of Doncaster and Sheffield about 35 miles to the west, hull is about 75 miles to the east and was by and far pretty dry though its on the mouth of a river and all the water has to go some where Wink

As far as I know only one town is still flooded as in still has waist high or worse water in it, the rest have drained. The dam didn't burst which was the real worry.

All in all a fraught time but everyone flooded or not is getting on and smiling which is good.

At the very least the dam didnt overflow, it would have been disastrous...

Well guys its offically dry and sunny, summer has come!

I'm sitting by a windmill with a home made scone enjoying the sun, and due to wireless internet at the cafe working as well, it's amazing to think the area I'm sitting out was actually flooded, (its on top of a hill to start with) but hey its Summer!
