Hi

I tried "whois class" on my localhost, it worked very well, but when I uploaded it to a godaddy hosting account, it always gives me: "The domain name: domain.com is registered" even if it is available, it gives the same message...!  Smiley

do I have to change something in php.ini ?

thanks Cool

I guess you need to run the the class in the "win" mode (socket)

if you have done this tell us the error you see

Dear Olaf, unfortunately "win" did not work...

also I tested the following:
http://www.arabhost.com/whois/test1.php

I think whois port is closed...

any idea?

thanks for your support Smiley

if the fsockopen doesn't work and the whois via the command line doesn't work you have no chance on that hosting account
