There are a bunch of sites out there serving feeds from other sites, what are your thoughts on this? Are the sites actually indexed? Does the Big G penalize for duplicate content?
Im currently experimenting with a site like this, and I need some opinions, views, quips or any information you can impart.
All sites are getting indexed, but the duplicate content will give you less search engine traffic.
My opinion is that it depends on the way you deploy the site.
it depends on (I guess) my youtube site is fighting with the 2000 daily visitor mark currently (> 90% organic tarffic).
I guess you should try it Chris, make something unique (mix diff. feeds with other stuff. I think web2annmounce has organic traffic too, right Nick?

Yes web2announcer have organic traffic, but this is mostly because it uses several feeds, so the content looks more unique.
But the traffic from search engines is slowing down so ? guess Google is still developing their duplicate content algorithms, especially now that rss sites are more like a trend

Hmmm... Interestting, I did try implementing it, I managed to make it run now, yippie yay!, now im making it look good. Right now my feeds are from my own network, a feed in my own feed... What do you think are the best content to feed in that doesn't affect the copyright of the originating site or its sharing policy?
So much to learn on this rss thing, so what do you call sites that display feeds btw?

It's site has their own copyright regarding rss feeds, so you'll have to check each site for what they say. In general most sites don't have any problem using their feed (as long as you link to them)
