Let me tell you. The site has a terrible sales page so selling template customization services is not an option.
Template monster is a site that everyone knows of so it would be really hard to sell something from them.
Adsense is the only alternative, and in adition that the site has a good ad position I guess it is the only earner for it.
I disagree Nick, you need a lot of traffic to earn with adsense on this TM aff. sites and also thousands of visitors a month for selling templates. I think the earnings for one customization job are higher than the earnings for the others sources over several month.
If everyone knows of TM, then they would want to buy a template that is from them. I say affiliate earnings from TemplateMonster.com.
Everybody knows Enron would you buy gas from them?

For anyone who is interested, I will give away a free packet (6 cards) of super hero comic cards to anyone who get the right answer.
Given he only has one packet I'm going with D the right answer which he hasn't posted
But if pushed its almost certainly A, the sales page sucks I can't imagine getting much from them so even with low traffic some body is bound to click adsense and $0.04 is better then nothing that said its a good link baiting either way

It was the largest US energy company and went totally bankrupt causing a huge economic crash in the states and possibly criminal charges, my point just because you know a brand doesn't mean you will buy from it I know of Mc Donalds but I wouldn't eat from one even if you paid me I quite like the idea of my burgers having meat from an animal I can identify in the same way I wouldn't eat at burger king or any other of those style joints.
I always eat from McDonalds, and the local Burger King got shut down (ate there once and never went back!), thus proving I may know of a brand, but unless I try it, I won't avoid it. Bet there are others like me...

I'm afraid it proves something else Nathan, perhaps you should ask what's in the sauce the fact you eat there thankfully is not reason for me to, but tell you what I found a full proof method for those voting for template monster to win...
buy a template from him thereby proving me wrong, and getting him cash so the stats will be in your favour, I suspect it would only take one or maybe 2 of you
* WhiteEagle warns, "Don't get me started about McDonalds food safety record!"
That is one of my favorite topics, and I've done so much research on it. I should almost write a book...
Back to the topic, I'd only buy a template if it was XHTML 1.1 compliant and CSS 2.0 compliant. I prefer to find ones for free, and modify them.

The correct answer is "A"
Nikolas is absolutely correct. Adsense is the only revenue source. And not much at that.
The site has been up in one form or another for about an year. In that time, I sold zero templates and no one wanted my "template customization services". I earned a total of $5 from Google in that year. Although during most of that time, the Google ads where not as prominently displayed as it is currently.
Anybody who got the answer correct and would like a free packet of super hero comic cards, please PM me with your postal address. I will ship anywhere in world at no charge to you. And yes, I have more than one packet of comic cards.
The poll is now closed.

Artcoder, I am glad I guessed right and that I won those packets (I am not sure what to do with them but anyway thanks )
There are a few basic rules that your site should follow in order to sell templates. The first is that you should never put ads (adsense, etc.) on a site that sells something. Even in an affiliate site, your site should have one purpose which is sell templates. Those people who click ads on such sites are possible buyers and you simply take them away from your offer.
Second rule is that your pitch page should explain to the possible buyer why you are better from your competitors. You should write at least 4 paragraphs about that.
The last thing that comes to my mind is that even that you sell templates you are not using a good one for your own site.
