I've just read a very interesting article about php that sais tha the Php language is about to die.

It has been writen that the most new developers are not interesting to learn php and are looking to other languages.

What is your opinion on this?

Here is the location of the article :

I will disagree. PhP is one of the fastest developed languages, extreme fast and with no bugs at all.

The only dissadvantage of php is the OOP but it is getting better since php 4 and I believe that it would be ok in php 5 (I said I believe because I haven't use php 5 yet)

As it is an open source language the development is too fast and the program is very reliable.

And as far as I know it is the most used language on the internet right now.

So why it should be die?

I highly disagree with that. PHP is the the most wideley used language and the fastest growing language. It will be a very long time before we see PHP die.

Wolf you have right about the past, but Perl is a very difficult language. Php is very easy to use and it still has the speed of perl

I can't see php being removed from alot of websites in the near future. It has too many uses, but it will probably become used more by less experieced programmers in the future. ASP seems to be used alot by large corporations

I agree with you. About the big companies I think that this is going to change. If you take a look at the Zend's site ( http://www.zend.com Visit through proxy ) there are many big companies that starting to use php
