Have a look: I updated my blog's theme

Its my first theme on wordpress. http://geoland.org

I started playing around with the cutline theme http://cutline.tubetorial.com/ and I ended up changing it completelly ...

I am thinking if people like it I might release it as a free template on the wordpress.org site ... that is why I need your opinions / likes / dislikes / bug reports ...

Nice theme and modification.

maybe a little bit too much grey...

about the plan to publsih the theme: post it at wordpress if you modified everything, not only the design Wink

I'm not too fond of 3 column designs myself, but still I think you did a great job. It's definitely worth releasing.

Actually I don't like the 3 columns style, but they are very useful!

Thanks for the comments everyone,

Three column designs as Olaf explains are very useful
with two columns either advertisement go very far down the page or the navigation does
with three you can keep both reasonably high up the page

Olaf I did a lot of tweaking on the theme its not only the design ... but why you say this about releasing it ? ..... 90% of the wordpress themes at http://themes.wordpress.net look identical to something else anyway ...

A wordpress theme is often not only some graphics, in my opinion you should release a theme as your own if the whole theme is made by yourself.
but you're most of the themes are not very unique

Quite frankly, I did not change too much the php code in the theme nor did I write any new php function,

but I had to rearrange the places of lots of php code, html, and css ...

and honestly does it look at all like its inspiration/predecessor  ? http://cutline.tubetorial.com/
could you have recognized that its actually derived from there with heavy tweaking if I did not tell you in the first place ?

thanks for the comments everyone ...

I don't think that there is any connection between your theme and the original, but I guess in your download page you should write that you started from this.

yep like "I was inspired by theme..."

but thats all up to you, check if the code is very different from the orig. default theme. if not that take it as your own work. At the end its all based on the license from wordpress
