Hi,
I need to write a script that will query the arin whois database once a day for 50-100 IP addresses.
is this OK and not abusing the arin database?
they say for wildcard queries:
Quote
Queries that return more than 256 results will stop displaying data after the 256th result. You may want to narrow your search criteria or add flags to your query to limit the results.
I am a metal monkey!

I think it looks fine, but you can't really know until you try it

I hope that someone knows an answer on this question (because I can't find an answer somewhere else)
if I query whois.arin.net for some IP address I get different results based on the "owner" information all of them have the information "role" which is followed by the address from the provider who holds the IP address range.
there is also information about the "person", and here is my question: is this information about a single person AND also companies?
I know that this is not very "privacy like", but is this information (if available) the information about the IP address owner?
