Apple's Procurement Business Office (PBO) is seeking an expert web applications developer to design and develop database driven applications, maintain and / or upgrade existing installed applications, and manage the Procurement and Supplier Diversity internal web sites and server systems.
[Required Knowledge]
Expert knowledge of PHP, MySQL, SQL
In Depth knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, DHTML, and CSS
Working knowledge of XMLHTTPRequest (Ajax), XML related technologies (XML, DTD, XML Schema, XSLT, XPath)
Working knowledge of web services including SOAP, WSDL, XML-RPC, curl
Expert in relational database design and development.
Working knowledge of Apache configuration, PHP configuration and Security
Proficient in developing technical specifications, functional requirements and general code documentation.
Working knowledge of FileMaker Pro.
[Additional Technical Skills]
Version Control Systems, Subversion or CVS preferred
Experience with OOP
Knowledge of Perl, UNIX or Mac OS X shell scripting desirable
Knowledge of Oracle 8,9,10, and/or PostgreSQL desirable
Knowledge of AppleScript desirable
[Key Job Responsibilities]
Web Application Development
Develops (designs and codes), and in some cases supervises the development and implementation of database driven web applications.
Designs and implements the database schema
Gathers, analyses, and documents functional requirements from end-users
Creates a technical specification document from which the application’s design and development can proceed.
Continuously develops enhancements and improvements to existing in-house created applications.

Must be able to interact effectively with VPs, directors and managers while developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with personnel in Procurement, the Business Groups, IT, and other departments

Ability to perform under tight deadlines
Must have over two years experience in design and development of web based business applications.
Prefer undergraduate degree in Technology
Prefer knowledge of Procurement in a large, complex organization
Must have hands on experience working with web servers as well as server configuration and administration
Knowledge of SAP enterprise application (Purchasing, Finance, et al) is a plus
Prefer knowledge (including implementation experience) of technologies supporting the Procurement function such as eProcurement, Dynamic Bidding Event/Reverse Auction (Procuri), and contract databases
