Mysql connection class

How can I make the connection function independent?
I mean, I know I can use:

$user = new flexibleAccess($link);

But I'd like to take away all the info regarding mysql connection and add it in a function outside the class, so I can use it for all my website.
Is that possible?

First of all excuse me for the late response, I am in army right now, so I am in lack of time

If you want to use the connection from the class, just use the $user->dbConn which holds the database connection.
