How is it that you get good results from images on google?
I am told that if i name the image a keyword then that will get great results.. but i am not sure.
Could someone share there views on this.

Not really different than doing seo on an html page.
Some key factors are :
1) Incoming links from pages that are related to the keywords 2) alt attribute with the right keywords when the image is displayed 3) The filename of the image should also have some keywords

Keep in mind too that a huge percentage of the people using image search are actually looking for pictures to use for their own websites and projects.
If however, you have a topic that has somewhat poor results in the regular search area, image searches do sometimes bring in a nice bit of traffic. I see that with my own sites.
