Howdy! I have a freind who is building a rubber stamp site, and they have a lot of merchandise to sell. Right now, they have a marketplace that generates Cart snippets that add items to a cart then can be used to checkout. What are some recommendations for setting up as site that sells products?

For previous client websites I've worked with both OS-Commerce and ZenCart.

I'd personally recommend using ZenCart as the OsCommerce development seems very slow and unreliable whereas ZenCart seem to have more active development as well as a much better variety of options in the admin area.

Using a shopping cart script will save you lots of time, effort and money.  If you're on a Cpanel server, chances are you'll be able to install both using Fantastico, once that's done you can just find a decent skin that you like, modify it and then configure it to how you want.

osCommerce is too old, and has too ugly code.

Try a new open source product like magento Visit through proxy. It is very new, and very good (and it is well funded too, so I guess it will have a bright future Wink )
