I think i found a very nice way to get loads of one way links for a very reasonable price. TNX.Net http://www.tnx.net/ Visit through proxy 'trades' links in a way i haven't seen before. The cool part is that you can manage your links so you won't create link bombs and you can sell links on your own website. The links seem to be naturally inserted and look like added manually towards search engines, so they claim.
Has anyone tested/tried TNX here? Anybody made some good or bad experience with it? What's the down side?
To me it looks just perfect.

I agree with Nick, forget these sites, next time some Google addict will join that site and knows who is cheating. They did the same with TLA

I have tried it
I cannot say the links help a lot
(of course I have not spend much on it, just trying it out)

As far as selling links on your site
Expect your PR to drop to 0 on next update
(see http://www.gamesonline4free.net/ Visit through proxy for example)

I took them off

Naturally i had to try it myself too. I have to agree, It's more or less to pay like 10 bucks and get either a lot of badly styled page rank 0 links on some xxx sites and cheap directories, or you can select about ten pr3 links for a month. A too high price. I also removed the links from my site again before something bad happens as Giorgos stated above. Sorry for that.

I don't typically purchase links in bulk and when I purchase links at all I am extremely picky in most cases.

I have a question for you all.  If a company like TXN.net says, "100 PR 3 links..." is that usually home page PR or is that the PR of the page your link would be found on?

I've always argued that while a good homepage PR is good to have, it is rather essential that the price of which you pay for a link or bulk links be based off of statistics collected from the internal pages; or the specific page your link would show up on.

Thoughts?

People buy links for SEO, right? If you buy links - which is wrong anyway - for SEO then pagerank is not important. The relevance of the page that will have your link on is the important factor, but even this way google gives different rankings in natural links that are inside of content, and links that are in a different block.

As I said before it is much better to invest your money in link bait articles in your site (articles that can make it to social media web sites) instead of buying links that can cause a penalty.

Nikolas,

I actually sit on the fence when it comes to rather or not Page Rank is important or not.  I tend to like to see PR internally and especially on the page or pages I'm attempting to get a link from.  It isn't so much how much PR is there; in fact if it is PR 0 then I'm still happy with that.

For me PR is relevant because it shows that Google knows about the page and at one time or another decided to give it some juice.  Add that to a how recent the page was cached along with other on site optimization review of that particular page and I can get a pretty good idea of rather or not I should invest my time or money in getting that link.

"... google gives different rankings in natural links that are inside of content, and links that are in a different block."

1000% agree with you.  I always try to get that odd ball link that isn't grouped with a bunch of other links. Not always easy because you cannot simply purchase that link or exchange links and ask for a special placement in most cases.

One example strategy I use is when i'm wanting a link from a Chamber of Commerce. I could tell my client to become a member and then get on the typical business directory with everyone else OR I could write or have my client write area information and work up a reputation as a 'Columnist' for the Chamber website with a footer link attached to the articles.

Anyways, PageRank isn't completely useless but it isn't all that glorified either.  I cringe every time a client says, "But they have a PR of 6!".  This is usually a home page PR and not the PR of the specific page they would be linked from.  Of course they also forget to check things like robots.txt, no follows, cache date, tricky redirects, anchor text, placement, number of current links, RELEVANCY, etc.

I think that the only safe way to pay to obtain more links is to hire a highschooler. Site em down, show them a couple of social media sites, and what your keyword is then pay em $8 an hour to build your links.   Evil They think they're getting paid well, and you are getting tons of valuable links!

@ homesource - Ok, that's probably how some websites get a couple of hundred thousand back links. I'm just afraid that this kind of job placement will be outsourced to India and that the 8 $ may more likely be 8 cents and the high school kids may never have seen a school from the inside; more like home schooling on strict need to know basis.

Just a thought that might come to mind if you think of English banks outsourcing their support to India.

I'll throw in my agreement with samiotis.  Paying cheaply for link building will end up with outsourcing to India or other places for much cheaper.  Cheaper usually means cheaper results as well and isn't the best.

Well, yea it is something that could always be taken to extreme, but for my own purposes, I think that because you're actually interacting with the linker, you're in much better control than some person you don't know over seas. It's like paying the neighbor kids to mow your lawn instead of hiring a gardener. Contribute to the young, who knows they will most likely see an opportunity in the web world that wouldn't have been open to them before.

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm not much into linking schemes as well.  I try my best to build backlinks myself as I always want to be the better judge on where to build my backlinks Wink

What do you mean by it will cost a little more? How do you get it into the other sites?

I think what Nik is referring to is a video for link baiting or something like it.
