What we all wished for since years, was to see what's behind the little green bars on the Google Adwords Keyword Tool, has come true since about two weeks! While Google is still hiding the number of advertisers (who could blame them) you can now see the approx. number of searches for a certain keyword or keyphrase during the previous and during this month. The numbers of the present month are estimated by Google. Well, if there is still a webmaster out there, who doesn't' use the Google Keyword Tool; now might be a good time to check it out! To use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool you need to make an Adwords account with Google.

They'll probably never be all too perfect. Google isn't going to share all they know with us i'm afraid. But in combination with the Traffic Estimator tool it's really great. That would be here: https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox - Sweet...

Giorgos, i was busy, very busy during the past month, but when nobody was saying a word about such a significant change, i thought i'd check out the situation. Many webmasters had already dismissed the Google Keyword Tool as a "nice toy with no real value". One of my clients, a webdesigner company in Germany, told me straight out; "we don't use this tool, it's only good for Google to make more money". Now even they think it's a great tool.... Thumbs up for Google!

Seems i landed a cracker afterall :-) What is a problem with Google is that they never send out any announcement to neither, their advertisers, nor their AdSense partners. For nothing! No mailing about changes, news or anything. I've seen better from any other company with a mailing list!

So, my sales bloggers team taht is launching a site just put this tool to great use. We had a meeting today and were trying to name the first e-book that will couple our launch, We used this too to determine what three word phrase to start it with and found one that received 300k searches a month. While we know that this is going to be a challenge, we figure 10 of us promoting the e-book with blog posts and articles and networking should have a monster effect. Thank you for this post as if it was not for you, our naming plan would have been way off.

I use Adwords too and it helps me a lot on my sites. Wordtracker is a good tool too!

salestrainer - i like your strategy! That's what I'm trying to preach to my clients as well. It's no longer possible to get top rankings with only one website promoting a business. Multiple attempts with loads of linking and a broader key phrase spectrum are the only way to success today. Long tail key phrases are much more likely to rank high than single keywords.
Formula to Success: - Use a long tail phrase (3+ words) found on the Google Keyword tool. - Write an article with exact that phrase as title. - Add one or even two h1 - h3 title(s) inside the article containing the exact key phrase - Have a good balanced density for that phrase inside your article - Set the keyphrase on the first spot of your meta keywords and description - Add tags containing the key phrase (as a whole and as single words and combinations, don't use any other words) - Publish it. - Digg it* and bookmark it, if you like, but that's only topping things up, it should work without as well.
You'll most probably find your article on page one - if not Nr.1 - on Google within minutes! My personal best was "diving lessons puerto rico". It turned up nr.1 and 2. on Google within 17 minutes after publishing the article "Diving Lessons in Puerto Rico"! - Mind the stop-word "in" that doesn't play any role in the search results here.
With the opening of the Google keyword tool it has become easy to find long tail key phrases with a high search volume and that's where the traffic is.
*Before you go to digg your article, check Google first. Maybe wait one hour. If you're already on the top spot - Hit the breaks - Don't digg it! You might end up kicking yourself out from the top and find your digg in front of you.

Interesting suggestion. Do you hold off Digging as long as you rank #1? How far down in the SERPs before you do Digg?

A little update on my previous formula to success - StumbleUpon gives me much more traffic than Digg! This is even though the diggs always get higher ranked in search engines...
The new Yahoo Buzz bookmarking site seems still to struggle getting out of first gear. People seem to love stumbling around the net.
Last but not least, Entrecard; my verdict: Not bad to generate traffic. Immediate results are not to expect but I'm testing it since a month now and my visitors from stumble have multiplied like mad. That's if you're just dropping. If you go though and use the private messaging system of Entrecard to make real contacts with real bloggers who regularly update their site, it's a great tool, because you find a lot of open ears from people who are just as desperate to get more traffic to their sites.
If you haven't got a clou what I'm talking about, I'll have to ask where you've bee during the past month In this case just visit www.entrecard.com and find out. Or Read my Article about EntreCard here. But, seriously, it's to be used with caution! It's totally addictive! You'll find yourself strolling through the net, reading stuff you never dreamed of reading, for hours, burning daylight. I give it 5/10 educational points and 3/10 traffic generating points. Enjoy.
P.S. EntreCard is built entirely in Wordpress! Unbelievable what you can do with WP!

It is really great--Once I discovered it I don't use wordtracker or wordpot anymore. I think it's pretty easy to use too.

But not very reliable after all! I found a niche with 30'000 plus so called "searches/month" created a blog for the key phrase and had it on page one within 2 weeks. Now i have like two or three visitors per day! I'm not sure if i would relay very much on that tool after this experience.

I have bookmarked it and whenever I will have time I will open it and will check it. Just check a bit now and find it really active. But let me try this one with some other niche as well.
