I don't think GIMP is a very good software program. It is very hard to use in my opinion. Everything is mixed up with it. I think photoshop is a much better program. Everything is much more organized and easier to find. If you need any help, feel free to send me a PM. I would be glad to help out.

Photoshop may be the best known graphics software and it may seem like everyone uses it. But there are other popular choices as well such as the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite and free graphics software such as The GIMP and Inkscape. What graphics software do you use for graphic design, Web design, and desktop publishing? Do you use free software because it's free or because it's better? Do you stick with Adobe because it's an industry standard? Share with us what you use and why you use it.

I use photoshop CS , it has more advanced options and far better layer control and manipulation. Text effects and control are also very nice and capable with Photoshop. However, PSP is good if you can't afford Photoshop, it has far less expensive.

People really have to be talented to use Paint, I admire people who actually have the talent and what not to do what they do with it. Anywho, I use Adobe Photoshop, the program is great, and has some amazing features. I do need to move onto other programs though, such as Gimp.

Hey all,
Just wanted to get some nice graphics discussions started. I was wondering what programs you use, what you like working on the most, and one thing you want to learn. I'll start
I use Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Illustrator CS4, and I mainly use it for icons in custom themes I make for my iPhone, or wallpapers, website banners, layouts, skins etc. I'd like to learn how to encorporate Flash to it and work on 2D animation.

There are also many places that have tutorials for the program. The only thing I don't like about it is that I think its unorganized. It might have been that I have use photoshop for a while before that though. It takes some time, but you will eventually get the hang of it
