Linkedin promotion

Please let me know the best ways to promote my business site in the 'Linkedin' world's largest business network. I never used Linkedin before. Your tips on this will be very helpful for me.

what type of business is it? and i've never heard of that site before.

First of all, lower your expectations. I am  serious. You think I am pessimistic? Not at all. I know web business, this is my job. There is no such thing as that; you will make a lot of money within a week from your website. You will sell a lot of products; your visitors will be begging to buy your stuff online. If it sounds too good to be true its not. Well those claims which  fills up your spam email folder, that's all. Get real and empty that junk!

Work harder and smarter to have a good benefits.

Yes I see Linkedin is good way to link building and promote your site. They are a good quality site and can be a good value if you submit your site to them.

LinkedIn is a good way to stay in contact with other professionals. I had signed up for an account months ago but then just ignored it. A couple weeks ago I got back in and finished up my profile, and started developing more "connections" to people I know. One high school classmate of mine is now CEO for a little hospital. He didn't know about my business. He's now a customer of ours. That one client WAY more than pays for the time I spent getting my page up and running.

I also just figured out last week that I can hook up my blog to my LinkedIn page. Nice

I've also found that you can join groups and post on the groups page for discussion. I'm an alum of the KU school of business. I've joined the group. And this last week posted a press release to the group.

OK. After this post I'll stop beating the drum for LinkedIn. I joined a group on LinkedIn (alums from KU business school) and posted our press release on the group page. Have gotten feedback from other alums who have used our business. Pretty interesting. I like LinkedIn more every day.

Linkedin social network focuses on the professional side of each member of it's network. It has a more corporate audience.

You have to focus on partners in your niche. Just keep on being active.

Linkedin is more of a professional website and you will only find professionals there to help you so it is hard for you to promote your website over there...

I see LinkedIn as a more professional networking tool than a link-building tool. Network with others within your niche or within your sphere of contacts to gain more exposure for your business and website.

This is a very overlooked & awesome methods, SEO'ing linked in profiles.

On likedin, you just those users that are professional by their profession so then you can generate high conversion rate.

For blatant website promotion, LinkedIn is not the perfect platform to focus upon.
There are very few promotional techniques,
- Add your website's link in public profile
- Create a LinkedIn ad campaign
- Create your own groups to connect with target audience
- Give and get recommendations to improve your visibility

Linked In is a niche marketing technique. So don't expect a lot of traffic (like Stumble and Twitter).

First of all create an attractive profile with attractive information.

Then, set your target market - professionals, graduates, students, software employees?

And, then start increasing your connection by sending friend requests (with attractive and sober message).. Hopefully, you will get a lot of connections.

Linked in is for professionals who needs to connect with their professional co-workers so dont expect traffic from that site.
