You'd have to be careful, when you produce spun articles, for the keywords you target to be untouched. If you job these out to writers, you have to specify that.

The alternative of course is to spin the articles yourself, or have a person spin it in his own words, and then you pay up for his writing skills.

i would say ezine articles and goarticles bring in the most traffic.
about article spinners, you want to train them yourself. youll have a better chance of getting them approved, and it will generally be higher quality content.
you might also want to look into some article submission software. you can submit your article cross a few hundred directories in less than an hour. the one i use also handles the account creation.
its true the article sites dont seem to work as well as they used to, but you do get backlinks and your name plastered all over the net. since its all content that im posting on my site anyway, i dont see any harm in spreading it out more. more links is always good, and who cares if people are spinning them. they are already spinning your content even if you dont post it to the directories.

I would recommend buzzle, squidoo and go articles. it's important to remember that all these directories have really high standards. There are many others but right now these are the ones I can think of.

Quality of the content should be fresh and unique before submitting to any of the site.
