What are your opinions about PHP language future? Does this language have any perspectives or it will be replaced by a new technology later? What do you think about this?

If what happened to Cobol is any example, it doesn't matter if a nea language replaces php, there will be years and years of work with php in legacy systems because I believe that the great majority of sites are done with php right now.
In anycase I think that php is still on the rise, and modern content management systems like the one I use, Drupal, are made with php so I don't see php going away for a long time.

This is not a fair question because we are simply dedicated to php Smiley

Anyway even Perl which is a very hard to learn/use language is still around. For the moment I can't see any replacement for php as it is very fast and there is a huge open source community around it.

I suppose php will stay here for many many years. Maybe some php framework will replace native php, but still php will be in use. Ruby could be some sort of competitor but it is still a very slow language and it is not good for scaling applications which is mandatory in today's web.

I would like to say that for a long time Yahoo and IE were the number one search engine and web browser respectively! However both Yahoo and IE has been replaced by Google and FireFox later! I am just wondering if this may happen with PHP language as well!

sorry? yahoo was the search before google and IE has still the biggest market share (I have no idea why this comparison makes sense)

Andrey have some point. He could say Perl was what Php is now before 10 years.

I don't think that it is impossible that a new scripting language will overcome php. I just think that a competitor is not available at the moment.
